Ministry of Transport investigations

After a constructive meeting with a senior civil servant and follow-up correspondence, a rather slow process is in train. However, after an intervention by Joe Roberson MP, Keir Mather, Minister for Aviation, Maritime and Decarbonisation, wrote on 9th October “The department recognises that it has taken some time and that it must be frustrating for the parties involved. I have asked my officials to see if anything can be done to speed up the ongoing work.” Officers subsequently advised that they had received further information. As such the DfT investigation appears to be actively progressing.

Harbour sale update

The directors first announced the harbour was for sale nearly two years ago in September 2023. As per our last update a web search for ‘Bembridge Harbour for sale’ still shows very public marketing. We assume that efforts to sell have been unsuccessful.

Harbour offices still not paid for

As of the 21st November we believe the contractors are still awaiting the outstanding amounts.

BHT Funds

The work of the Trust remains as important as ever, as we finally make progress on financial redress. We thank you for your support to date, and ask for your continued financial support to keep going at this crucial time, in particular with professional advice to engage with the Department of Transport as required.
