Dredging starts
Good news. Dredging in channel inside the harbour has started. This dredger agitates the silt on the sea bed and up into the water column. It then relies on the free energy of the ebb flow remove it. This method has worked well in Yarmouth. Lets hope it works as well here. Harbour to be offered for sale
After an Anonymous posting on the Bembridge Community Noticeboard that said that the Harbour was for sale. Mike Samuelson (acting chair of BHUG, the user group) spoke to Malcolm Thorpe. Yesterday Mr Thorpe confirmed that it was his intention to place the Harbour on the market in the very near future so that once sold he could retire and enjoy more time with his family.
